The West Crete holidays guide

Hrissi Akti (Golden Beach) and Agii Apostoli are located within walking distance of the city of Hania.

Very close to Hania with easy access on foot, by public bus, taxi and car.

Fairly quiet but plenty of tourists in Hrissi Akti.

Plenty of accommodation, especially in Hrissi Akti.

Only a few but you always have Hania nearby with plenty to choose from.

You will need to go to Hania.

Three very nice sandy beaches. The water is shallow so it is safe for children. One of the beaches has a play area for children. It can get crowded, especially at the weekend because the beaches are popular with the inhabitants of Hania.

The area is growing rapidly with new hotels and studios being built all the time but it manages to retain a fairly quiet atmosphere. It is a good base to explore West Crete from and also nice if you have small children because the beaches are safe.
